On October 10, I gave an estate planning presentation for business owners sponsored by Access Bank and Middleburg Investment Group, pertaining to the importance of family and business planning while the tax law allows for $22.4 of tax free gifts. See the Announcement below. The concern for business owners and individuals with significant assets is that the $22.4 million exemption will be reduced in 2026 when the law “sunsets,” or perhaps even in 2021 if there is a dramatic shift in Congress and the Executive Branch.
